Personal Practice
Finally learn yoga properly - with your teacher guiding you personally, every step of the way.
What is Personal Practice?
Our Personal Practice sessions come in two forms - Ashtanga Mysore in the mornings, and Guided Personal Practice in the evenings.
Ashtanga Mysore is a traditional self-paced format where you work through your sequence independently, with your teacher moving through the room offering individual adjustments and guidance throughout.
Guided Personal Practice in the evenings takes a more gradual approach - ideal if you're new to yoga or simply prefer a slower, more supported introduction to the sequence.
Both sessions are small, personal, and unhurried. Whichever you choose, you'll receive individual attention from your teacher rather than being guided as a group. The experience is yours - we're just here to support it.
What to Expect
When you arrive for these practices, you won’t need to know the sequence in advance.
You’ll be guided step by step, starting from the beginning.
Over time, as familiarity grows, the practice becomes more fluid and self-led - always supported, never rushed.
The room is quiet and focused.
There is no music, no counting, and no performance.
Some days will feel strong.
Some days will feel slow.
Both are part of practice.

Who is this practice for
Personal practice is suitable for you if:
-
you value steady, long-term growth
-
you’re open to learning gradually
-
you prefer personal guidance over group choreography
-
you want a deeper understanding of your practice
-
you’re willing to show up consistently, without rushing results
You do not need to be flexible, strong, or experienced to begin.
You only need curiosity, patience, and a willingness to start where you are.
Personal Practice may not be the right fit if you’re looking for:
-
fast-paced, follow-along classes
-
loud music or high-energy group dynamics
-
a teacher demonstrating every pose
-
quick results without regular practice
-
a workout-only experience
This is not to discourage -
only to help you find the practice that truly supports you.
What Personal Practice Is Not

The Metta Way
At Metta, Personal Practice is held with clarity, respect, and care.
We keep the room intentionally small so each student receives appropriate guidance.
Adjustments are offered thoughtfully, and progress is built patiently.
There is no pressure to advance quickly.
Postures are given when the body and breath are ready.
We believe the strength of this practice lies not in how much you do, but in how honestly you practice.
Beginning Your Practice
If you’re new to this approach, we recommend arriving with an open mind and allowing yourself time to settle into the rhythm.
Consistency matters more than intensity. Practicing a few times a week, even gently, creates meaningful change over time.
You’re always welcome to ask questions, before or after practice - and guidance is always available.
A quiet practice for those seeking depth and steadiness
